I had no idea that the sequel to a decent Dream-works spin-off from over a decade earlier would turn out to be one of the year's most moving, reflective, truly funny, and touching films. Yet, we are right here.

Puss in Boots

The Last Wish quickly develops its zany cast of characters into distinct personalities with empathetic desires and clear objectives after a clunky and overly cheesy opening sequence. The film manages to successfully handle all of the characters' arcs, with appropriate set pieces and emotionally satisfying resolutions, which is almost miraculous.

The story is funny, wacky, and full of heart as it tackles important issues like trusting others and finding meaning in any situation. In addition, it addresses these issues in a manner that is always comprehensible to people of all ages but is never insultingly oversimplified.

What I additionally didn't expect was that the activity successions would be so very much arranged and wonderfully energized, and that the film would frequently be unnerving and fierce now and again.

I loved this film. I believe it's Dreamworks' best film since Megamind and it's effectively the best obvious family film of the year.
